It was March 16, 1991, when tragedy struck. A private plane carrying seven members of Reba’s touring band and her tour manager crashed shortly after takeoff in San Diego, killing everyone on board. Reba herself was not on the plane — she had stayed behind at the hotel due to feeling unwell.
